Diaries are a wonderful way for children to record their memories: activities, accomplishments, goals, and how they felt about all these things at the time. As adults we look back on old diaries and can remember things we might have forgot had we not written them down. In that way diaries end up being a gift to ourselves: a window into the past to remember what things were like.
